Yes, this is exactly what I thought of. Something that scrapes transfer related gossip on social media from official confirmation, speculation and crazy rumours and you'll end up with a podcast that makes Transfer Deadline Day happen every day of the year

We're at the "some tech guy did it for fun" stage. This leads into the "a startup company did it for cash" and "a huge corporation did it to crush humanity" stages, which should follow in short order

Next step would be to hook this up to whatever AI drives the Google ‘DeepDive’ podcast generator.

Surely the obvious use case for this would be data powered news such as stock prices, weather and stats-heavy sport like baseball.

It's not exactly the same but Google Notebook will generate an AI podcast on a research topic, or about prompts on a research topic. https://notebooklm.google/

I'm not sure how you'd have it constantly updating, but their podcast style is uncanny, all the little American podcast vocal ticks and cliches (and just as annoying),
